Behold my court! My Grand Marshal and High Steward are the gentle cleansing agents. The role of Major-Domo is held by plant-based glycerin, which acts hygroscopically like no other. Its duties include penetrating the stratum corneum and enabling active substances to reach the deeper layers of the skin. I have entrusted the office of Lord Chamberlain to the trusty jasmine flower extract, which moisturizes and firms the skin. The Royal Purveyor of my court is mallow flower extract—its task is to create a protective film on the skin’s surface that limits water evaporation from the epidermis. After hours, it busies itself with softening and smoothing the skin. Finally, my Private Secretary is the irreplaceable peony extract, which protects cells and delays skin photo-aging, while simultaneously smoothing and firming it.
